Women in Time – A documentary series
10,000 years of women who made and broke the rules about war, power, religion, sex, and reproductive freedom.
A beautiful older woman stands on the shore of northern Africa on the site of ancient Carthage. In her hand she holds Queen Anne’s lace, humble cousin to a flower which once flourished in these desert lands. A flower that formed the basis of the entire economy of Carthage and transformed this outpost on the north Africa shores into an economic giant. A magic flower. A flower that provided reliable and effective birth control to women throughout the classical world.
Thus begins an episode of Women In Time, a four-part documentary series exploring the moments and places in time when women held the rights and privileges we believe new to modern era.
